Chelsea have reportedly beaten FC Barcelona to the signing of highly-rated of Polish goalkeeper Marcin Bulka, according to Przeglad Sportowy (via Soccerlens).
The Premier League side, who could only finish tenth in the English top-flight standings last term following their thoroughly disappointing defence of their 2015/16 title, have recruited the FCB Escola shot stopper.
The 16-year-old, who was also a transfer target for La Liga giants Barcelona, was wanted by the Blues as soon as possible so the ‘keeper could join his new teammates on their pre-season tour of the US.
Bulka, who was highly-rated and wanted by Chelsea’s goalkeeping coach Henrique Hilario, was understood to have flown over to England on Thursday ahead of putting pen to paper on a contract with the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Chelsea, who host West Ham United in their 2016/17 Premier League opener on Monday, August 15 (20:00), have already completed deals for Belgium international striker Michy Batshuayi from Marseille and Leicester City’s title-winning midfielder N’Golo Kante under new Blues boss Antonio Conte this summer.
