Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, is reportedly set to turn to his old club, Juventus, and chase striker Mario Mandzukic, in order to bolster his attacking options, according to The Mirror.
The Blues first two games have ended with them 2-1 winners and with two strikers – Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi – on the pitch, with only Loic Remy providing back up.
With small numbers in terms of options up top, and with number one choice Costa lucky not to have picked up a suspension already, Conte has been looking to add more firepower all summer.
The Italian’s top target was Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, however the Belgian has decided against a move and will stay at Goodison Park for this season at least despite being strongly linked with a return to Stamford Bridge.
Mandzukic, who is reportedly available for around £25m, only made the move to the Juventus Stadium last summer, scoring 13 goals in 36 outings, helping the Old Lady to their 32nd league title.
