Chelsea are confident they have what it takes to tempt Everton striker Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge, after the Belgian snubbed a new deal on Merseyside, according to reports from The Mirror.
The 23-year-old who, according to his agent, was on the verge of penning a new deal at Goodison Park, however, has turned down the offer over a standoff regarding his release clause.
The Belgium international was a £57m target of the Blues in the summer, having sold the former West Brom loanee to the Toffees in 2014.
The towering striker has been turning heads across Europe this season, bagging 20 goals in 29 appearances so far and breaking Duncan Ferguson’s Premier League goal scoring record at the club, meaning Chelsea are not alone in the chase.
The Mirror’s report also claims that European giants Real Madrid, Juventus and PSG are all interested, whilst Manchester United and Jose Mourinho are considering the forward as a replacement for top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
