Chelsea are reportedly confident that they will complete a £60 million deal to re-sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton, according to the Sunday Express.

The Blues have already had a £57 million bid rejected by the Toffees this summer, but they believe that they are just £3 million short of a fee that would be accepted by the Merseyside outfit.

It is understood that the Belgian has told his friends that he is keen on a return to Stamford Bridge despite being sold two years ago, with the 23-year-old feeling that he has unfinished business at Chelsea, while he would also like to link up with his Belgium teammates – Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois and Michy Batshuayi.

Lukaku has scored 45 goals in 94 appearances in all competitions for Everton since signing in a club-record £28 million deal in 2014, and would be the west London club’s third addition of the summer as they look to improve on a disappointing 10th-placed finish in the Premier League last term.
