Chelsea are reportedly considering making a move for former striker Romelu Lukaku after seeing a £62.7 million bid for Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata rejected, according to the Daily Mail.

New Blues boss Antonio Conte is keen to bring the Spaniard, who re-signed for Real for £23 million from Juventus after they triggered a buy-back clause in his contract, to Stamford Bridge this summer, but he could turn his attentions elsewhere after having two huge bids (£50 million and £62.7 million) turned down by the Spanish giants.

Everton striker Lukaku, who moved to the Toffees from Chelsea for a club-record £28 million in 2014, is understood to be seen as a viable alternative to Morata, with the Belgium international looking to leave Goodison Park in search of European football.

Lukaku has scored 45 goals in 94 appearances in all competitions for his current club, and the target man is open to a return to west London, despite being allowed to leave two years ago.
