Chelsea could move for Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha if Kepa Arrizabalaga departs the club this summer, according to reports.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that the Albanian ‘keeper has attracted attention from clubs including the Blues, who may move for him if Kepa leaves the club.

The 27-year-old is available on a free transfer as his deal with the Italian side expires this month, and Chelsea believe that he could therefore be a suitable replacement if Kepa leaves the club.

The Spaniard has endured a tough time in England, struggling for form as the club’s first choice goalkeeper before falling behind Edouard Mendy in the pecking order in 2020.

Strakosha could be on his way to Chelsea

Kepa, who arrived for a record fee for a goalkeeper of £72 million in 2018, has made just 11 Premier League appearances over the past two seasons, and could be sold to raise funds.

Strakosha, meanwhile, has been a regular for Lazio, making 23 Serie A appearances this season.

The Albania international has not yet signed a contract extension with the Italian side, though, and could therefore leave for free in the coming weeks.
