Antonio Conte’s Chelsea are building momentum ahead of a likely Premier League title challenge.

The Blues have won their last four league matches, including impressive wins over Leicester, Manchester United, and Southampton, and haven’t conceded a goal during that run.

This is all after disappointing losses to Liverpool and Arsenal in September, but since Conte has switched to a back three, their fortunes have drastically improved.

No European commitments should benefit the Blues in their quest to regain the Premier League title, although they would’ve been frustrated to be knocked out of the League Cup by West Ham last week.

Nevertheless, it’s looking like a promising season for Chelsea fans, with Conte beginning to stamp his authority on the team, but more signings may be needed in January to sustain a title push.

Thus, Conte could look at other Premier League players in a bid to bolster his squad, so here are TWO Tottenham players he could try and lure to Stamford Bridge in January…

Ben Davies

Tottenham’s Ben Davies could be lured by a lot of clubs in January, but it’s Chelsea who have actually been linked with the left-back.

The Welsh international was hugely impressive for his country during their run to the European Championships semi-final last summer, and it is thought that his efforts in the Wales back three is what is interesting Chelsea boss Conte, who plays a similar system.

Davies hasn’t played much at Tottenham this season, and it doesn’t look like he is going to get the better of number one left-back Danny Rose, who has consistently played well in recent times.

However, Chelsea could give him a chance to increase his first team opportunities, and it’s a deal they could attempt to strike in January.

Jan Vertonghen

Despite a bit of talk in the last few months, centre-back Jan Vertonghen has yet to sign a contract extension at Tottenham.

The defender has been one of the most consistent performers in the Premier League in recent seasons, and seems to have struck up an excellent partnership with Toby Alderweireld in central defence in the past 12 months.

Spurs have conceded just five goals in the Premier League thus far, and these two are a primary reason why Pochettino’s men are so difficult to beat.

Yet, with Vertonghen’s current deal up in 2018, clubs may start to keep an eye on his contract situation over the next few months.

And, for a club that have been looking at bringing in defensive reinforcements in January, this could interest Chelsea.

The Belgium international has proven to be a top-quality Premier League defender, and would certainly bolster Chelsea’s defensive options.
