Chelsea will hope to take a commanding lead when they face Swedish side Djurgarden in the first leg of their Europa Conference League semi-final on Thursday night.
Enzo Maresca’s side have underwhelmed since the turn of the year and now face a battle to qualify for the Champions League next term, despite sitting second in the Premier League table on Christmas Day.
The Blues are, however, strong favourites to win Europe’s third club competition this season, and Maresca will want his side to establish an advantage ahead of the second leg at Stamford Bridge next week.
Away from the action, it appears that the London side are showing an interest in a Ligue 1 striker.
According to TBR Football, Chelsea could move for Strasbourg striker Emanuel Emegha this summer.
The Blues are on the hunt for a new forward this summer and have been heavily linked with a move for Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap.
The report claims, though, that the West London side could move for both players, with Emegha potentially becoming their third-choice striker behind Nicolas Jackson and their other new arrival.
That could mean that at least one of Armando Broja and Marc Guiu could depart Stamford Bridge permanently, with the former currently on loan at Everton.
Emegha, 22, joined Strasbourg from Austrian side Sturm Graz in 2023 and has since scored 23 goals in 59 games for the French side across all competitions.
He is under contract with the Ligue 1 side – who are also part of BlueCo – until the summer of 2028, but the report suggests that Chelsea could attempt to lure him to London this summer.
Other Premier League sides are said to be interested in the Dutchman, including Everton, Brentford, West Ham United and Fulham.
