Chelsea are reportedly ready to offload under performing defender Papy Djilobodji during the January transfer window.

The defending Premier League champions, who face Scunthorpe United in the FA Cup this weekend, are set to enter talks with Stuttgart over the possible sale of the summer signing flop.

The 27-year-old; who has 12 international caps for Senegal, has played just one minute of first-team action for the Blues, coming in a brief substitute appearance during the club’s League Cup victory at Walsall back in September.

Djilobodji, who arrived at Stamford Bridge in a deal worth £3m from Nantes in the summer, has severely struggled to make an impact at Chelsea and is reportedly set to be offered an escape route out of his Premier League nightmare by the Bundesliga outfit this month.

Talks are supposedly going to take place over an initial 18-month loan deal for the centre-half.
