Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Liverpool and Norwich City transfer target Andrea Ranocchia this summer, according to the Daily Star.

The defending Premier League champions, who currently sit tenth in the English top-flight standings following their 2-2 draw against West Ham United at Stamford Bridge in their last meeting, are thought to be interested in signing the Italy international defender on a free transfer.

The 28-year-old; who has 20 international caps for his country, has made 19 league appearances for both Serie A sides Inter Milan and Sampdoria so far this season, for whom he is on loan at the latter club.

Ranocchia, who was subject to interest from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Norwich during the previous January transfer window, is out of contract at the San Siro come the end of the current 2015-16 campaign.

The report suggests that incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, despite there still being no confirmation of his appointment yet, wants the Italian centre-half to join him at Stamford Bridge next term.
