Chelsea have been at the centre of a huge amount of speculation this summer, with new Blues owner Todd Boehly looking to make a statement during his first transfer window in charge.

Thomas Tuchel has already been gifted with both Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly, and the club have also narrowly missed out on a number of other targets including Raphinha, Jules Kounde and Matthijs de Ligt.

Chelsea were beaten to the signatures of both Kounde and Raphinha by Spanish giants Barcelona, although it appears that the Londoners could now be plotting their revenge.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of a number of players being monitored by Chelsea.

Aubameyang’s future has been thrown into doubt by the arrival of Robert Lewandowski

The Gabon international departed Arsenal for Catalunya in January and impressed during his first six months in La Liga, but Barcelona’s recent acquisition of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich has cast his future into doubt.

Romano claims that Chelsea have already started conversations with the player’s representatives, although they are yet to make an official offer to his club.

Romano claims that Chelsea have already held talks with Austrian side RB Salzburg over a move for Benjamin Sesko, as well as a number of other targets.

Aubameyang, 33, scored 13 goals in 23 Barcelona appearances during the second half of last season.

Tuchel will reportedly be buoyed by the signing of Marc Cucurella from Brighton and Hove Albion, as Romano also claims, although the Seagulls have since rubbished the reports.
