Chelsea will look to continue their good run of form when they travel to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues defeated West Ham United 5-0 last time out and remain in contention to qualify for next season’s Europa League.

At present Mauricio Pochettino’s side sit seventh in the Premier League table, but they could finish as high as fifth if they win their final three games and other results go their way.

This summer looks set to be another busy one at Stamford Bridge with plenty of incomings and outgoings likely, but it has now emerged that the London side are hoping to sign one of the world’s best goalkeepers.

According to Football Insider, the West London outfit are hoping to sign Atletico Madrid ‘keeper Jan Oblak this summer.

Oblak has been one of the best ‘keepers in Europe over the last ten years

Goalkeeping has become something of a problem area for the Blues in recent seasons, with a succession of ‘keepers failing to establish themselves as a reliable number one.

Both Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga departed Stamford Bridge last summer – the latter on loan – before Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic were signed.

The report claims that Chelsea could now look to Oblak, 31, to solve their goalkeeping issues this summer.

The Slovenia international has made more than 440 appearances for Atletico in total, keeping 204 clean sheets.

He is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Europeand remains a crucial part of Diego Simeone’s side.

Despite this, the report suggests that the La Liga side may be open to the idea of letting Oblak depart Madrid this summer.

His current contract doesn’t expire until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, but Chelsea may make an offer this summer to try to lure him to London.
