Nothing seems to be going right for Arsene Wenger at Arsenal at the moment, however, he has been offered some good news after Chelsea were knocked back in their pursuit of one of the the hottest names in European football.
According to reports from The Mirror, Antonio Conte’s £51m approach to land Torino striker Andrea Belotti has been snubbed by the Serie A side.
The 28-year-old, who has bagged an impressive 26 goals in all competitions so far this season, has also been heavily linked with a move to The Emirates as they continue their seemingly endless search for a world class striker.
There is a sticking point for the Gunners, however. Whilst their London rivals and Premier League champions elect, who could be on the search for top scorer Diego Costa’s replacement, have seen their efforts rebuffed, the club have reportedly insisted that a whopping buyout clause of £85m must be met in order to agree a deal.
Wenger is not known to be a big spender, however, the constant claims that change is coming in north London, with a summer overhaul supposedly around the corner, could change that.
