Chelsea have reportedly joined the chasing pack to land French midfielder Steven N’Zonzi this summer, according to The Sun on Sunday.

The Premier League giants, who could only finish 10th after a catastrophic defence of their 2014/15 league title, where they sacked manager Jose Mourinho back in December, have joined champions Leicester City and former club Stoke City in the running to win his signature.

The 27-year-old, who is a former France Under-21 international, scored four goals and provided two assists in 46 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit and 2016 UEFA Europa League winners.

N’Zonzi, who left the Potters back in July 2015, is reportedly understood to have a £21m release clause.

The report also suggests that new Blues boss Antonio Conte is a big fan of the defensive midfielder, whilst the Foxes are interested in N’Zonzi’s services as they fear N’Golo Kante could leave the King Power Stadium this summer.
