Chelsea have reportedly been told to stump up in excess of £30m if they want to sign Brazil ace Alex Teixeira.

The defending Premier League champions, who currently lie just three points above the bottom three after their opening 12 fixtures, have been scouting the Shakhtar Dontesk attacking midfielder for much of the 2015-16 campaign.

The 25-year-old, who is yet to earn his first international senior cap for Brazil, has scored a sensational 21 goals in 22 matches in all competitions so far this season for the Ukrainian outfit.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho is concerned by the lack of goalscoring threat from his forwards Diego Costa, Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy so far this term, meaning Teixeira has become the ‘Special One’s’ number one transfer target ahead of the January market.

However Shakhtar have made it clear that Teixeira will not leave the Donbass Arena cheaply this New Year by demanding at least £30m for their prized asset.
