Chelsea face Brazilian side Palmeiras in the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup in Philadelphia on Saturday morning.

Enzo Maresca’s side finished second in Group D to set up a last 16 tie with Benfica, but needed extra-time to progress past the Portuguese side last time out.

Reece James had put the Blues 1-0 up on Saturday but, after a weather delay of more than two hours, Angel di Maria equalised deep into added time to send the tie to extra-time.

Goals from Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the second period of extra-time sent Maresca’s side through to the last eight of the competition.

In the meantime, it has emerged that the Blues could be willing to sell two of their current crop of attackers.

According to Football Insider, the West London outfit are open to the prospect of selling both Noni Madueke and Raheem Sterling this summer.

The report claims that the Blues – who have agreed a £55 million deal to sign Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund – are now preparing to offload attacking players.

Sterling, 30, joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2022 but has since failed to recreate the fine form he demonstrated at The Etihad.

The England international was sent on loan to Arsenal last summer but failed to score a single Premier League goal for the Gunners last term, and the report claims that those in charge of Chelsea are now prepared to sell the winger.

In total Sterling has scored 19 goals in 81 appearances for the Blues.

Madueke, meanwhile, arrived from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in 2023 and has since played 90 times for the Blues across all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing nine assists.

Despite featuring 44 times for the Blues last season, the report claims that Madueke will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge if a suitable offer is received this summer.

The report also claims that forward Christopher Nkunku is another player likely to depart SW6 this summer.
