Chelsea are reportedly ready to swap Diego Costa for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani in the summer, according to Le 10 Sport (in French).

The Blues are keen to shake-up their squad following a poor title defence attempt this season, and the Spain international, could be one of the big casualties.

Meanwhile, the London club are understood to have held a long-term interest in the 29-year-old Uruguayan, who is said to be available at the end of the campaign for around £28 million, but the Ligue 1 champions could demand Costa in return.

It is believed that discussions have already taken place involving a potential swap deal involving the duo, but they were just initial talks.

Cavani has always failed to completely win over the PSG fans, despite scoring 74 goals in 133 appearances in all competitions, while Costa has netted 35 times in 71 games in all competitions for Chelsea, and is the club’s top goalscorer in the Premier League this term with 11 strikes to his name.
