Chelsea have this afternoon sacked Jose Mourinho following a poor run of form that sees them currently lying 16th in the Premier League table.

Despite lifting the title just seven months ago, the Blues have struggled to replicate those performances this term, and Monday night’s 2-1 defeat to Leicester City, which proved to be the final straw for Roman Abramovich and the board, was their ninth in just 16 matches.

According to the bookmakers, the early favourites for the job are former Tottenham manager Juande Ramos, Bayern Munich’s Pep Guardiola and former Blues boss Guus Hiddink.

Mourinho leaves Stamford Bridge with his side 20 points behind the leaders Leicester, and 14 points shy of Manchester United in the all important Champions League spots.
