Chelsea boosted their Champions League qualification hopes with an impressive 4-1 win over Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

A Joao Pedro hat-trick and a goal from Cole Palmer earned the Blues a huge victory at Villa Park, despite the Villans having taken an early lead courtesy of Douglas Luiz.

The result leaves Liam Rosenior’s side fifth in the Premier League table, with Villa one place and three points ahead in fourth.

Away from the action, it is emerging that Chelsea are interested in a Bundesliga midfielder.

According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea are keeping tabs on Bayern Munich star Aleksandar Pavlovic and are planning to begin talks about a possible move imminently.

The report claims that the west London outfit have identified the 21-year-old as a potential transfer target as they look to identify targets to bolster their squad this summer.

Pavlovic joined Bayern’s youth system as a youngster and has now made 87 appearances for the club across all competitions since breaking into the senior side.

So far this term the Germany international has featured 32 times for Vincent Kompany’s side, scoring three goals.

It is claimed that Manchester City have already conducted discussions with the player’s representatives, however Pavlovic himself is said to be keen to stay put in Bavaria.

The young midfielder has previously revealed that he can envision himself spending his entire career with Bayern, where his contract is set to run until the end of the 2028/29 campaign.

Despite interest in the player from two of England’s biggest clubs, the report claims that Bayern have no intention of selling Pavlovic any time soon as they view the player as a key part of their plans for the future.
