Chelsea set to swoop for Manchester United contract rebel Angel Gomes this summer, according to the Independent

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has conceded that Gomes will leave the club when his contract expires this coming Tuesday.

The Independent have reported that Frank Lampard and Chelsea are taking the lead and are likely to snap up the youngster.

Remarkably Gomes was the first player born in the 00’s to make an appearance in the Premier League back in 2017, but despite this he has not become a first team regular at United.

Solskjaer was very honest about his thoughts on Gomes.

Now at 19-years-old is seems he is desperate for regular football and a fresh challenge away from Old Trafford.

Solskjaer shared his thoughts in a press conference, he said:

“I’ve got no news, nothing.

“I’ve not heard from them last night or this morning, it seems like they haven’t managed to agree. The answer is probably short and ‘yes [he’s leaving]’, then.”
