Chelsea go into the international break in good form after a win over West London rivals Fulham on Saturday.
The Blues have won two of their first three matches in the Premier League – drawing against Crystal Palace in the other.
Next up for Enzo Maresca’s side is a visit to fellow West Londoners Brentford after the international break, before a visit to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Ahead of that European tie, it has emerged that one member of Chelsea’s squad could soon join the Bundesliga giants.
According to Ben Jacobs, striker Nicolas Jackson is set to join Bayern Munich on an initial loan deal, which will include an obligation-to-buy clause.
The German champions are set to pay around £70 million in total to sign the Senegal international, who has scored 30 times in 81 games for Chelsea since joining from Villarreal two years ago.
The forward has looked to be on his way to Bavaria late last week, but Chelsea stalled the deal after Liam Delap suffered an injury against the Cottagers on Saturday.
Jacobs claims that the deal is now back on, however, with Bayern set to sign the striker on loan initially before making the move permanent next summer.
It is also claimed that the Senegalese forward has agreed a five-year-contract with Bayern, where he will play alongside England captain and former Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane.
Jackson was sent off twice in the space of five matches towards the end of last season, and he has fallen down the pecking order of strikers in Maresca’s squad since the arrivals of Delap and Joao Pedro earlier this summer.
The forward has eight years remaining on his current contract with Chelsea, but it appears that he may have played his last game for the club.
