Chelsea’s summer transfer business seems to be hotting up as the Blues continue to be linked with a number of players.

A deal for Leeds United forward Raphinha is rumoured to be close to completion while Raheem Sterling is also expected to join the club, which could rule out moves for both Richarlison and Ousmane Dembele.

Thomas Tuchel is also believed to be in the hunt for a midfielder and at least one central defender, with ex-academy graduate Nathan Ake amongst those linked with the club.

It appears that one of the Blues’ current defenders is trying to assist with their transfer dealings, though, as Thiago Silva has urged one of his international teammates to join the club.

As per Sky Sports, the 37-year-old has admitted that he would love Brazil teammate Neymar to join him at club level.

Neymar has been tipped to join fellow Brazilian Thiago Silva in west London

“He has to go to Chelsea,” he told Brazilian outlet JG.

“If it happens, it will be for the best. He needs no comments.

“So far, I don’t know anything, but I hope it comes to fruition.”

It recently emerged that Neymar had been told by current club Paris Saint-Germain that he was no longer required in the French capital and would be allowed to leave, and Chelsea were touted as one of the clubs potentially interested in the 30-year-old.

As well as being international teammates, the pair also spent three years together in Paris before Silva departed to join Chelsea in 2020.
