On-loan Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has made an admission that will not go down too well with the fans at his parent club in west London.
The 19-year-old, who is currently spending the season in the Championship with Bristol City, has admitted that he was a fan of London rivals Arsenal as a child.
The Londoner, who has made two appearances for the Chelsea first team in his career, has been in fine form this season, bagging 21 goals and four assists in 36 league appearances so far.
The striker opened up and admitted that he was a Gunners fan as a kid and looked up to legend Thierry Henry, a player he looks to model himself on.
“To be honest I was [an Arsenal fan],
“It didn’t make any difference at Chelsea. When you’re young and you choose who to support, if it’s a family thing, it’s a family thing.
“Luckily for me it was a family thing so it wasn’t really a problem [at Chelsea].
Speaking on his childhood hero, the England U21 added: “Someone I looked up to was Thierry Henry.
“His variations of finishing, his movement, the way he dribbles… Someone like that has a key impact on me.”
After his outstanding season on loan, the striker has turned heads in the Premier League, with champions Leicester City reportedly interested in a deal.
