Chelsea are considering a move for ex-Arsenal star Serge Gnabry after missing out on Leeds United’s Raphinha, according to reports.
As per The Mail, the Blues look set to miss out on Raphinha, who was one of their top targets for the summer, as the Brazilian is close to securing his dream move to Barcelona.
That leaves Chelsea having to look elsewhere to improve their misfiring front line, and Gnabry has emerged as a potential target.
The report claims that the German, whose contract is due to expire next summer, could be available for around £45 million.
Gnabry spent five years with the Gunners before departing in 2016, initially for Werder Bremen.
He has been instrumental to much of Bayern’s success over the past four years, scoring 64 goals in 171 games for the club and winning four Bundesliga titles and the Champions League.
The arrival of Sadio Mane from Liverpool could prompt a decrease in his playing time though, and the forward may therefore decide to leave the club.
That would mean this summer is Bayern’s last chance to cash in on the player, and Chelsea are well aware of the situation.
It is claimed that the Blues have already made enquiries about the player’s availability.
