Chelsea face Leeds United in a crucial game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with pressure building on manager Graham Potter.

The Blues have won just two of their last 15 matches across all competitions and currently sit tenth in the Premier League table, below the likes of Fulham, Brentford and Brighton.

Potter faces a crucial week as his side face Leeds on Saturday, before hosting German side Borussia Dortmund at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday for the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.

In the meantime, there has been an update on the future of one of Chelsea’s targets.

According to 90min, RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol is ‘weighing up his options’ ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Croatia international has been in sensational form over the past 18 months, establishing himself as one of the Bundesliga’s most impressive centre-backs.

Last summer, the defender was believed to be close to joining Chelsea, before eventually signing a contract extension with his current side.

Gvardiol is set to be a man in demand this summer

Since then, The Blues have signed Benoit Badiashile from Ligue 1 side Monaco, and it remains to be seen whether or not they will renew their interest in Gvardiol when the window reopens this summer.

Regardless of Chelsea’s potential interest, the Croat is set to be the subject of intense interest this summer, with Real Madrid said to be one of the clubs monitoring the player.

Premier League sides Liverpool and Manchester City are also said to be interested, with the report claiming that both clubs have sent scouts to watch the central defender in action.

Gvardiol, 21, joined Leipzig back in 2021 from Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb and has since made 74 appearances for the German outfit.

The defender impressed at the World Cup in Qatar last year, playing in all seven games at the tournament and scoring in the third place play-off as Croatia beat Morocco.
