Chelsea are set to complete the signing of Raheem Sterling on Thursday, according to reports.

As per Ben Jacobs, a deal for the Englishman will be finalised on Thursday, with official confirmation expected in the coming days.

The 27-year-old will cost the Blues an initial £45 million, plus potentially another £10 million in add-ons.

Sterling will leave a club at which he has won 12 trophies, including four Premier League titles, during his seven years there.

Sterling’s game time dipped last season

The England international has scored 131 goals in 337 appearances for the Citizens, and promises some much needed firepower for Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

The Blues struggled in front of goal last term, with £100 million striker Romelu Lukaku netting just eight times in the league, and Tuchel will be hoping that the addition of Sterling can help to resolve that issue.

It is reported that Tuchel spoke to Sterling several days ago in order to persuade the forward to join Chelsea, and it appears to have worked as personal terms have been agreed without any major obstacles.
