Chelsea transfer news: Kai Havertz update, Hammers set Declan Rice price and Lewis Dunk expected to make Stamford Bridge switch

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will know he has to improve his defence.

Chelsea transfer news: Kai Havertz update, Hammers set Declan Rice price and Lewis Dunk expected to make Stamford Bridge switch.

It’s already been a busy summer at Stamford Bridge, despite there being weeks and weeks left of the transfer window remaining.

Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech have already joined the club with Willian making the switch across London to join rivals Arsenal on a three year deal.

However, news outlets from around Europe expect a lot more activity to come for Frank Lampard’s squad this summer…

Dunk tipped for Blues switch

The Mirror have reported that Brighton & Hove Albion defender Lewis Dunk is coming ever closer to agreeing a switch to Chelsea this summer. The commanding central defender has been with the Seagulls since he was a youngster and is now the club captain. However, Lampard is keen to improve his somewhat shaky defence and the odds have dropped on Dunk making the move to the Capital this summer.

Havertz Update

BuLinews.com  have reported that wonder kid Kai Havertz can join Chelsea under ‘certain conditions’, according to Rudi Voller who is sporting director Bayer Leverkusen.

What those certain conditions are, are yet to be determined but it gives positive hope to Chelsea fans as the transfer is by no means being ruled out.

If Havertz were to join Chelsea would have a host of attacking players to choose from next campaign.

Hammers set fee for Declan Rice

The Times have been reported that West Ham United have set Chelsea a transfer fee of £80million if they want to secure the services of England international Declan Rice.

The 21-year-old spent seven years of his footballing education at Stamford Bridge and it is now thought he is one of Frank Lampard’s top priorities this summer.

Although he has played most of his football at the base of the Hammers midfield, Rice can also be deployed at centre back which would be a massive boost for the Chelsea squad.
