Chelsea are reportedly keen to re-sign striker Romelu Lukaku in the summer, but have been told that they must pay double what they sold him for, according to the Sunday Sun.

The Belgium international left Stamford Bridge for Everton two years ago for £28 million when the Blues were under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, but is understood that after the Portuguese manager’s departure in December, the attacker is back on the Premier League champions’ shopping list following a the disappointing attempt at a title defence this term.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich is still a big fan of the 22-year-old, but it remains to be seen whether he is willing to splash out £56 million on a player he sold for half of that so recently.

Lukaku has enjoyed another impressive season for the Toffees in the Premier League, with 18 goals to his name, and the big Belgian has 59 goals in 116 appearances in all competitions.
