Chelsea return to Stamford Bridge on Monday as 2016-17 Premier League champions when they face Watford (20:00).

The Blues, who wrapped up the English top-flight title on Friday night after defeating West Bromwich Albion 1-0 at The Hawthorns, thanks to Michy Batshuayi’s late winner, also face already relegated Sunderland at the Bridge on Sunday to conclude their sensational season.

Whereas The Hornets, who have now lost their last four Premier League outings on the trot following Friday’s 1-0 loss at Everton, linger down in 16th spot, six points above the relegation zone – although thankfully for Walter Mazzarri’s men, the drop zone’s bottom three places have all been confirmed, with Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Hull City being demoted to the Championship.

For hosting boss Antonio Conte, the title-winning Italian has a full squad at his disposal, although he could make a few alterations following last week’s hard fought win in the Midlands.

Shoot! has picked out three players the 47-year-old could hand a start to at Stamford Bridge this evening in champions Chelsea’s penultimate league fixture…

N’Golo Kante

The PFA Players’ Player of the Year was an unused substitute during last Friday’s title-winning victory at West Brom, following a knock which ruled him out of the previous Middlesbrough clash.

However, the 26-year-old, who lifted the Premier League title with Leicester City last term, could be recalled to Conte’s starting XI after recovering from his minor problem, meaning Cesc Fabregas may have to settle for a place on the bench against Watford.

Kante has scored two goals and provided an assist in 38 appearances in all competitions for The Blues this campaign. But these statistics do not serve the Frenchman justice in regards to his influence behind Chelsea’s title-winning campaign. Engine.

John Terry

In what is his penultimate opportunity to star for his beloved club in the Premier League, plus a possible FA Cup final appearance against Arsenal later this month, Chelsea fans would love to see their skipper start against The Hornets.

The 36-year-old, who has featured just seven times in the top-flight under Conte this season, was also an unused substitute against West Brom, but replaced fellow defender David Luiz with six minutes remaining during The Blues’ 3-0 win over Middlesbrough last Monday.

With the Chelsea legend leaving Stamford Bridge this summer, and the 2016-17 Premier League title already secured, Italian Conte should have no problem in giving the veteran a run out against Watford.

Michy Batshuayi

Despite having played just 123 minutes of Premier League football this season, following his big money move from Marseille last summer, it was out-of-favour Michy Batshuayi who stole the headlines last Friday after scoring the all-important winner at The Hawthorns.

However, the 23-year-old has not started a top-flight fixture this season. This may all change after his heroics in the Midlands last week, with his 82nd minute strike sealing Chelsea the 2016-17 title.

With two home fixtures remaining of the season, and nothing else to play for, albeit preparing for the 2017 FA Cup final at Wembley, boss Conte could hand the Belgian ace a chance to impress from the first whistle for once and stake a starting spot against Arsenal later this month over Diego Costa.
