Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will know he has to improve his defence.

Chelsea’s Predicted XI: We predict Frank Lampard’s starting XI as Chelsea face off against Leicester City in the FA Cup quarter finals.

This afternoon sees Frank Lampard’s outfit travel up to Leicester City with both clubs vying for a place in the FA Cup semi finals.

Chelsea are coming off the back of a fantastic result on Thursday night which saw them overcome last year’s Premier League champions Manchester City 2-1.

Blues boss Lampard will be delighted with his side’s work in the week, which puts them in a strong position to hold down a spot for next season’s Champions League.

However, Chelsea fans will also want silverware and today’s clash gives the West London side a great chance of taking one step closer to a major trophy.

So what team will Lampard pick to try and overcome the Foxes. Here we predict the Chelsea boss’ XI…

Goalkeeper: Despite being dropped by Lampard before lockdown, Kepa returned to the side and will be expected to keep his place again.

Defenders: Chelsea’s back four performed very well against a talented Manchester City team. Many managers have been rotating their squads due to fitness since the return to football and we expect Lampard to do the same. Antonio Rudiger will keep his place in the side, but we expect Kurt Zouma to play alongside him and Reece James to get a start alongside Marcus Alonso.

Midfielders: Once again, there will be rotation, but one man we expect to still see in a Chelsea shirt is Mason Mount. The England international is the man that makes Chelsea’s attacking force tick. We believe youngster Billy Gilmour should get the nod but Matteo Kovacic will come in for Ross Barkley.

Forwards: We think Lampard will stick will start Tammy Abraham for this one. Despite ongoing contract talks, Willian will get the nod again with his pace and trickery vital in this Chelsea set-up. And goalscorer Christian Pulisic will again make the starting line-up and try and get three in three.

Predicted XI: Kepa; James, Rudiger, Zouma, Alonso: Mount, Gilmour, Kovacic; Pulisic, Willian, Giroud.
