Manchester United decided not to pursue a move for Marko Arnautovic after being warned about the move by several former players.

As reported by Sky Sports, the Red Devils were considering a move for the former West Ham United man, but decided otherwise when ex-players contacted the club with complaints about the proposed deal.

Arnautovic, who now plays for Italian side Bologna, is a player that Erik ten Hag wanted, but the club have now decided that they will not be following up their interest in the player.

Arnautovic will not be joining Manchester United

The 33-year-old forward scored 22 goals in 65 games for the Hammers, and also scored 26 goals in 145 games for Stoke City.

The report says that several supporters also contacted United to warn them about the potential signing of Arnautovic.

United began their Premier League season in disappointing fashion as they fell to defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Ten Hag’s side were beaten 2-1, and have since been linked with a number of surprising transfers, including a reported offer for Adrien Rabiot.
