As many as five clubs are in the race to sign former West Ham United goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.

The 40-year-old shot-stopper is reportedly weighing up offers from Championship sides Bristol City, Queens Park Rangers and Preston North End, plus League One duo Barnsley and Bradford City.

Jaaskelainen, who has made 436 Premier League appearances since 2001, played only two games in all competitions last season under Sam Allardyce, with Adrian the preferred goalkeeper between the sticks.

However; a handful of Football League clubs are still interested in the veterans services this summer as he looks to prolong his stay in English football into a 19th year.

Jaaskelainen is joint-third on Bolton Wanderers’ all-time leading list of appearances having played 530 games for the Trotters between 1997 and 2012.
