Could Conte tempt these 2 Liverpool men to Chelsea in January

Antonio Conte has enjoyed a marvellous first half of the season with Chelsea and could, if other results go their way, see his side ten points clear at the top of the Premier League this weekend.

The blues face Marco Silva and his Hull City side this weekend, with striker Diego Costa back in the reckoning after the saga surrounding his future at Stamford Bridge calmed somewhat in the wake of last weekend’s win over champions Leicester.

Conte’s side remain in firm control of the league but the former Juventus and Italy manager may feel that he still needs to add this month in order to run away with it.

Furthermore, a shrewd signing in the January window can develop into a masterstroke come the start of next season when Chelsea, bar a monumental foul up this season, will be back in the Champions League and will deep a much deeper squad.

Thus, here are TWO Liverpool players he could try and lure to west London before the end of the month…

Nathaniel Clyne

With Conte changing the system at Stamford Bridge and playing with two wing-backs, he could keep an eye on Nathaniel Clyne’s progress at Liverpool.

The England international impressed at Southampton between 2012 and 2015, and deservedly earned a move to Anfield last summer, where he has continued to show all the hallmarks of a top-quality right-back.

However, his attacking instincts could be suited to Conte’s wing-back roles, especially as Clyne is always looking to get forward and help out in the final third, which is hardly surprising for someone who wanted to be a striker at a young age.

However, he is still very adept defensively and, although Victor Moses has excelled in the wing-back role so far for Chelsea, if Conte wants slightly a more defensive option, Clyne could be the man.

With Barcelona reportedly interested in the England defender, the Blues will need to act fast if they want to bring Clyne to West London.

Daniel Sturridge

Could Daniel Sturridge return to Chelsea three years after leaving Stamford Bridge?

The England international’s future on Merseyside has been up in the air since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp, although a more consistent run in recent weeks may give him a route back to the first team.

However, it still doesn’t look likely that this is going to happen, so the 27-year-old may seek a move away to maintain his place in the England set-up.

A few clubs have already been linked to the striker and, although Diego Costa is the most in-form striker in the division at the moment, Sturridge could be another excellent option for Conte to have at his disposal.
