Conte could tempt these 2 Man United players to Chelsea in January

Chelsea have been a force to reckon with this season and have many giving them the title already, however, that doesn’t mean that new manager Antonio Conte doesn’t need to add in the January window.

Conte’s men started the season with three straight victories and, although they suffered disappointing defeats against Liverpool and Arsenal, the Blues have bounced back in the most incredible fashion and are deserved league leaders.

Their turnaround earlier this season was all down to Conte’s decision to implement a back three, which saw a Chelsea side struggling at the back and conceding goals become a solid and dependable backline.

The Blues cleared away any doubts after their 2-0 loss to Tottenham in the league with another convincing win over the champions. Conte’s side where 3-0 winners over the Foxes with wing-back Marcos Alonso grabbing a brace.

Nevertheless, 47-year-old Conte may still feel that he needs to strengthen his side to maintain their title challenge, and could look at other Premier League players in a bid to do just that.

Thus, here are TWO Manchester United players he could try and lure to Stamford Bridge this month…

Bastian Schweinsteiger

Clearly out of favour and unlikely to nail down a regular starting berth, Bastian Schweinsteiger’s Manchester United dream looks all but over.

Despite returning to first team training earlier in the season having being exiled by Jose Mourinho, the World Cup winner has only played 16 minutes for the Red Devils this season.

However, he could still do a job in the middle of the park in the Premier League, and it could be an avenue Chelsea look to pursue in January as Conte looks to strengthen his midfield options.

He’s unlikely to dethrone Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante in the starting eleven, but he would provide a more-than-able deputy if either got injured or suspended.

Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial was excellent in his first season at United last time around, but hasn’t had the same influence under Mourinho so far in this campaign.

Although he has struggled with injury, even when on the pitch for United he has found it difficult to influence the game in same way as he did last season.

Consequently, he may seek a fresh start after a tricky few months, and Chelsea could offer him that in January, as Conte looks to bolster his attacking options with Diego Costa’s recent revelations that he could be off to China
