Everton have made an excellent start to life under new manager Ronald Koeman, who replaced Roberto Martinez in the summer.

After a difficult season last time out, with the Toffees only managing an 11th place finish in the Premier League, Koeman’s side currently sit fifth in the table after winning four of their opening seven league games.

The former Southampton manager brought in seven new signings during the summer transfer window, with Crystal Palace’s Yannick Bolasie and Swansea’s Ashley Williams moving to Goodison Park, but the Dutchman may feel that more recruits are needed to maintain their push for European football.

Despite being three months from the window reopening in January, there are already lots of rumours flying around about which players may move on in the New Year.

Here are THREE players that have been linked with Everton which Koeman might be able to bring in when the window opens again…

Rachid Ghezzal

Everton almost had a £9 million deal done for Lyon winger Rachid Ghezzal in the summer, only for the 24-year-old to opt to stay in France.

However, the Algerian international has yet to sign a new deal with the Ligue 1 side and, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season, Lyon may look to cash-in on him during January.

Consequently, Koeman should reignite his interest in the winger, who netted eight times last season in the French top-flight, in a bid to strengthen his attacking options at Goodison Park.

Arsenal and Leicester are also reported to be interested, so Koeman needs to act quickly if he wants to bring his man to Merseyside.

Troy Deeney

A player who is making great strides and getting better year on year, Watford’s Troy Deeney was subject to interest throughout the summer.

A number of sides were linked with a move for the Englishman, including Premier League champions Leicester City, and the Hornets frontman has since shown the Foxes exactly what they missed out on.

The 28-year-old has netted three times in his last four Premier League games, but it’s his all-round play which causes defenders all sorts of problems.

Everton have been linked with a January move for Deeney and, with speculation building surrounding the future of Romelu Lukaku, Koeman must act fast to try and bring the Watford man to Goodison Park.

Niklas Sule

Getting a deal completed for German defender Niklas Sule could be one of the best bits of business Everton have done in a long time.

The Hoffenheim defender, who helped his country to a silver medal in the Rio Olympics during the summer, is extremely highly-rated in his homeland, and is being tracked by a whole host of top European clubs, including Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, and Tottenham.

If Koeman can strike a deal and convince the 21-year-old to move to Goodison Park ahead of the three aforementioned clubs, it would represent a major coup, and may help attract similarly big names to the blue half of Merseyside.
