Coventry City have signed former England international Joe Cole.
The League One side, who currently sit fifth in the league table respectively, have snapped up the Aston Villa winger on a 35-day emergency loan deal from the Premier League club.
The 33-year-old, who has 56 international caps to his name, has made just one appearance for Tim Sherwood’s Villans so far this season, playing 60 minutes in their 5-3 victory over Notts County in the League Cup.
Cole, who will remain at the Ricoh Arena until November 22, is expected to watch the Sky Blues take on the in-form Blackpool on Saturday afternoon.
After signing the former Chelsea, Liverpool and West Ham United star; Coventry boss Tony Mowbray said: “I’m delighted to welcome such a high-calibre player to the club.
“Joe has a great pedigree, both on the domestic and international stage, and I’m sure he’ll have a fantastic impact during his time at the club.
“We’ve got plenty of games coming up which will be crucial to us maintaining our early-season form and I’m looking forward to seeing Joe in action for the Sky Blues.”
