Crystal Palace’s £15m offer rejected for Algeria international striker

05 November 2014 - Uefa Champions League - Sporting Lisbon v FC Schalke - Islam Slimani of Sporting.

Crystal Palace have reportedly had an opening offer of £15m turned down for Algeria international Islam Slimani.

The Premier League side, who suffered a 3-0 defeat to defending champions Chelsea at the weekend, are understood to already have a bid rejected for the Sporting Lisbon striker this January transfer window.

The 27-year-old, who has 41 international caps for his country, has scored an impressive 14 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese top-flight outfit this season.

Eagles boss Alan Pardew, who sees his side sit seventh in the current standings and only five points adrift of the top four, is keen to add a new forward to his attacking ranks this month following the cancellation of Patrick Bamford’s loan spell from Chelsea.
