Crystal Palace’s Premier League Player of the Month for February

Name: Connor Wickham
Position: Striker

Striker Wickham has boosted his Premier League goalscoring tally from one to five within his last two outings.

Despite featuring in just two of Crystal Palace’s four Premier League fixtures throughout February; striker Connor Wickham demonstrated his top-flight ability during the end of last month to nail down a place in manager Alan Pardew’s starting eleven and rediscover his shooting boots.

The 22-year-old, who is a former England Under-21 international, has remarkably multiplied his goalscoring tally in the league by five times in his last two appearances, with a brace against West Brom kick-starting his rich vein of form.

Firstly Wickham provided the assist for fellow frontman Emmanuel Adebayor to net the Eagles’ eventual consolation goal in their 2-1 home defeat to Watford, with his second-half substitute appearance enough to earn the striker a recall to the starting eleven in their next fixture against the Baggies.

There; at the Hawthorns, is where the former Ipswich Town and Sunderland hitman scored twice after the interval to try and spark his teammates into a remarkable comeback after West Brom raced into a three-goal lead after just 31 minutes.

It seems Wickham may have well recaptured his eye for goal thanks to his late-February form, with the young forward recording another two-goal performance in Tuesday night’s 2-2 stalemate at Sunderland.
