Derby County have reportedly seen a third bid for midfielder Jacob Butterfield turned down by Huddersfield Town.

The Rams, who offered £3 million, are attempting to sign the Terriers star following injuries to Will Hughes, Jeff Hendrick, Craig Bryson and Jamie Hanson.

Butterfield, 25, has impressed since his move from Middlesbrough last summer, picking up Town’s Player of the Season award in 2014/15.

And with a thin squad to choose from, boss Chris Powell is determined to keep hold of the ex-Barnsley man who still has three years remaining on his current deal.
