Shoot! would like to wish Christian Eriksen many happy returns as the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder celebrates his 26th birthday this evening!
The Denmark international, who already has an impressive 75 international caps for his country, thoroughly enjoyed the night before his birthday, scoring the equaliser in Spurs’ 2-2 UEFA Champions League draw away at Serie A champions Juventus on Tuesday.
Eriksen, who joined the North London outfit back in August 2013 following his reported £11m move from Eredivisie side Ajax, has scored 51 goals in 212 games overall for Tottenham.

This season, central midfielder Eriksen has netted nine goals and provided eight assists in all competitions, with Mauricio Pochettino’s men currently sat fifth in the Premier League standings, having advanced into the last-16 of the Champions League and into the fifth round of the FA Cup.
So to celebrate the Dane’s latest milestone, here is Shoot!‘s five facts you may not know about Spurs star Eriksen…
During his youth career with Odense Boldklub, Eriksen had trials with the likes of FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Chelsea and Manchester United.
But the teenager decided to join Ajax, instead, saying, “My first step should not be too big.
“I knew that playing in the Netherlands would be very good for my development. Then Ajax arrived and that was a fantastic option.”
Eriksen made his senior international debut for Denmark back in March 2010 against Austria.
Then, just a few months later, he was named in Denmark’s 23-man squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa, where the midfielder was the youngest player to feature at the tournament, playing against the Netherlands and Japan.
Eriksen is the first footballer to win three consecutive Danish Football Player of the Year awards (2013, 2014, 2015).
The Spurs star now has four titles though, after winning the honour for a fourth time in 2017.
Eriksen holds the record for the most goals scored by a Danish footballer in the Premier League (38).
It is not just Christian who is a fine footballer within the Eriksen household, his younger sister, Louise, is also quite the player!
She earned her first international call-up to Denmark Women’s national side back in March 2017 to face Finland the following month.
