Newcastle are ready to call time on Tim Krul’s career at St James’ Park.

According to a report in The Chronicle the club are ready to let the keeper move on despite having a year left on his contract.

Krul spent last season on loan at Ajax and Alkmaar and had hoped that he could revive his Magpies career but that’s not going to happen.

Rafa Benitez won’t stand in the way of any of his five goalkeepers leaving the club and is looking at bringing in Pepe Reina from Napoli.

Krul, Karl Darlow, Rob Elliot, Matz Sels and Fred Woodman are all available for transfer as Benitez attempts to overhaul the squad that was relegated from the Premier League 12 months ago.

Moving players on is as important as bringing in new faces with Benitez in total charge of the club budget.

Watford almost signed Krul on loan during the January transfer window with other Premier League clubs certain to be interested in an experienced 29-year-old back up keeper.
