Arsenal face Premier League rivals Newcastle United in a pre-season friendly on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners are currently on tour in Asia and will face the Magpies in Singapore before a game against North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.
Mikel Arteta has been handed a huge boost in the lead up to the new Premier League season, with the arrival of striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP.
The Swede has scored 97 goals over the past two seasons, and Arteta will hope that he can recreate that form at The Emirates.
In the meantime, it has emerged that Arsenal’s summer spending may not have yet come to an end.
Fabrizio Romano claims that the Gunners remain in talks with the representatives of Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze about a possible move for the player.
It is claimed that, while the two London clubs have not yet been in direct contact about the move, Arsenal are still in discussions with the 27-year-old’s camp.
Eze himself is said to be keen on the proposed move to The Emirates, however the Gunners are currently focussing on offloading players in order to cut down Arteta’s squad and raise funds for further new signings.
The Englishman joined the Eagles from Queens Park Rangers in 2020 and has since played 167 times for the South London club across all competitions, scoring 40 goals and providing 28 assists.
He has also established himself as a regular within the England squad over the past couple of years, and has now been capped 12 times by the Three Lions at senior level.
Arsenal are said to currently be focussing on selling players before any new signings arrive and Reiss Nelson is expected to join London rivals Fulham, according to Romano.
