As many as five English clubs are reportedly interested in signing Cameroon striker Karl Toko Ekambi.

It is understood that Premier League duo Newcastle United and Sunderland, plus Championship side Middlesbrough, have been linked with a move for the Sochaux forward, although Queens Park Rangers and Burnley have also shown an interest in the past.

The 22-year-old, who has three international caps, finished as one of Ligue 2’s highest goalscorers last season, netting 14 league goals in 38 appearances for the French outfit.

Toko Ekambi, who only arrived at Sochaux from FC Paris last summer, could be on the move once again following his impressive debut season at the Stade Auguste Bonal, although Ligue 1 outfit Lorient are also thought to be interested in his services.
