Euro 2016 star set for Deadline Day move, Tottenham linked

Newcastle attacking midfielder has been subject of a bid from Premier League side Tottenham as he looks to secure a move away from St James’ Park before the transfer deadline at 11pm on Wednesday, according to The Mirror.

Furthermore, the French international has been given permission to leave his international training base, Clairefontaine, in order to finalise a move, the French Football Federation have confirmed.

Spurs have reportedly submitted a bid of £15.75m for the 27-year-old, half of The Magpies £35m valuation, as they look to bolster their attacking ranks before the window closes.

The attacking midfielder has been linked with a move away from the North East all summer, having been linked with moves to European giants, Real Madrid and Juventus.

The former Toulouse man looks set to follow former Toon Army men Georginio Wijnaldum, Daryl Janmaat and Andros Townsend back to the Premier League this summer.

Mauricio Pochettino has been chasing an attacking midfielder all summer, having been involved in a protracted saga to land Marseille’s Georges-Kevin N’Koudou.
