Everton and Hull City are reportedly chasing the signature of Italy international goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu, according to The Sun.

The Premier League duo, who currently sit fifth and third in the English top-flight standings after their opening two fixtures, are keen on luring the Paris Saint-Germain shot stopper to England before deadline day (August 31).

The 29-year-old, who has 17 international caps for his country, has slipped down the pecking order at the Ligue 1 champions after making just 12 appearances for the Parc des Princes outfit last season, despite keeping seven clean sheets.

Sirigu; who is also attracting interest from La Liga’s Sevilla, is wanted by Toffees boss Ronald Koeman as competition for fellow new addition Maarten Stekelenburg at Goodison Park this term.

Meanwhile the Tigers have entered the frame to land the PSG star as caretaker boss Mike Phelan seeks a new shot stopper as regular number one Allan McGregor is ruled out until next year through injury.

The report suggests that the French side are prepared to pay a significant part of his wages if he is shipped out on loan this summer.
