Everton are reportedly ready to move for Netherlands international defender Bruno Martins Indi as the club prepare for John Stones’ departure, according to The Sun.

The Premier League side, who host Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day of the new English top-flight campaign in less than three weeks time, have emerged as potential suitors for the FC Porto centre-half.

The 24-year-old, who has 31 international caps for his country and featured for the Netherlands at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil, made 34 appearances in all competitions for the Liga NOS giants last season.

Martins Indi, who began his senior career in his homeland with Feyernoord, is wanted by new Toffees boss Ronald Koeman as Everton prepare to lose England international Stones to fellow Premier League rivals Manchester City in a deal worth £50m.

The report suggests that the Dutch defender could move for around £12.5m, with Porto thought to be ready to offload the centre-half after admitting the player is keen to seal a summer transfer.
