Jordan Pickford could be moving from the Stadium of Light to Goodison Park this summer with reports that Everton are prepared to offer the Sunderland keeper £90,000 a week.
Everton could face a busy summer with stories that Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley are wanted by several clubs but Ronald Koeman knows if he isn’t to finally break into the top four he needs to strengthen his squad not weaken it and bringing in the highly rated 23 year-old Pickford would be a step forward for the Toffees.
Despite a miserable season for the club, Pickford has been one of Sunderland’s few positives and with the Black Cats almost certain to be playing Championship football next season it’s going to be extremely difficult for David Moyes, or whoever is in charge, to convince him to stay.
£90,000 a week may be enough to tempt Pickford, although Everton could face competition for his signature with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal all facing the prospect of looking for new goalkeepers next season.
Everton fans have been reacting on social media to the Pickford links:
