Everton line up £8m raid on Malaga midfielder

Everton have reportedly entered the race to sign Malaga midfielder Sergi Darder.

The Premier League club have been put on high alert following the collapse of the 21-year-old’s proposed move to Ligue 1 outfit Lyon earlier this summer.

Darder, a Spain Under-21 international, scored four goals in 36 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga side last season.

With fellow central midfielders Muhamed Besic injured and Darron Gibson struggling for fitness, Toffees manager Roberto Martinez could be tempted into making a move for Malaga’s £8m star before the close of the transfer window.
