Everton are considering a move for Iranian striker Sardar Azmoun as they look to land his signature ahead of bitter rivals, Liverpool, according to Persian Football.

The 21-year-old, who has been labelled the ‘Iranian Messi’ is also a target for the red half of Merseyside but reportedly would prefer a move to Goodison Park.

The Rostov man could make a move as early as January with Toffees manager looking to add to his striking ranks, which frankly is just Romelu Lukaku as things stand.

It’s not just the two club’s on the Mersey chasing the striker with Premier League rivals Stoke City and French side Olympic Marseille also reportedly interested.

The former Rubin Kazan man has been in fine form for his current club this season, having scored four goals in 19 appearances so far, setting up two.

The Toffees are now backed in the transfer market by the money of Forad Moshiri meaning that Ronald Koeman now has the power to compete with their neighbours.
