Everton have re-signed England international forward Wayne Rooney, 13 years after leaving The Toffees.
The Premier League side, who have paid an undisclosed fee for the Manchester United legend, have landed the striker on a two-year contract.
The 31-year-old, who has 119 international caps for the Three Lions and is England’s all-time leading goalscorer with 53 strikes, scored just eight goals and provided 10 assists in 39 appearances in all competitions for The Red Devils last season.
Rooney, who netted 253 goals for the Old Trafford outfit overall, lifted five Premier League titles, four FA Community Shields, three League Cups, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League, among other honours, during his 13 years at United.

After sealing a return to Goodison Park this summer, Rooney said, “It’s a great feeling to be back.
“I cannot wait to meet the lads, get on the training pitch and then get on the pitch to play.
“I’m not just coming back because it’s the team I support, the team I grew up playing for – I’m coming back because I feel the club can move forward and be successful.
“I want to be part of it. There will be pressure on me to perform, but I’m ready to go.
“I believe I can help move this club forward and be more successful on the pitch.”
